We also discuss the challenges and solutions that come with navigating this path that very few Black, Latinx and indigenous women take (we make up <5% of all doctors in the US).
I’m your host, Dr. Omolara Thomas Uwemedimo, Black woman, pediatrician, wife and mom of 2 fierce and fearless girls. I am also founder of Melanin, Medicine and Motherhood, an organization which provides personal development programs to empower women physicians of color who are underrepresented in medicine to find their purpose and achieve their vision.
